About Us...

aAprina Miniature Schnauzers is a privately owned, in home kennel, located in Wasco, Oregon which is about 1 1/2 hours east of Portland, Oregon.

It all began when we bought Shalea, our first Miniature Schnauzer. She soon had us hooked on the breed and before long we had a serious Miniature Schnauzer addiction. I'm sure many Miniature Schnauzer owners can relate to that! One Miniature Schnauzer can soon lead to three or four. Actually, we never planned to become breeders, but before long everyone wanted a puppy and so the story goes.

Our love of this breed lead us to learn as much as possible about good breeding practices and that has been an ongoing endeavor. We are always striving to improve the Miniature Schnauzer breed and over time our goals have changed from breeding our dogs for friends to really wanting to contribute something back to this wonderful breed. aAprina Miniatures takes special care in the way we raise our puppies, socializing them with other people and animals from day one. They are raised inside our home with our four children; Cole age 9, Payton age 14,  Kahra age 16, and Derrick age 17; our cat, Roxy; our Australian Shepard, Bear; our 3 Great Pyrenees Ketara, Kodiak and Kruizer; and 2 Australian Multi-Generation Labradoodles. All our puppies are obviously very well socialized.
